Dr. Taam-Akelman is a native of Ithaca, New York. She attended Cornell University for her undergraduate degree and the Medical University of South Carolina for her medical degree and OB/GYN residency. She is a junior fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, member of the American Institute of Ultrasound Medicine and American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology. Dr. Taam-Akelman enjoys caring for women of all ages. Her particular interests include low-risk and high-risk pregnancy, including vaginal birth after cesarean section (VBAC). She is also interested in contraception counseling and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, running, yoga and cooking.
